Information

Magnesium oxide (MgO) is a versatile chemical compound that building product manufacturers are increasingly using to create structural panels. This session will highlight MgO panels, which are:

• Lightweight and incorporate cement-like materials, making them a successful replacement for traditional structural panels

• An ideal alternative to oriented strand board, thanks to the enhanced fire-resistance qualities of the noncombustible material

• Water-resistant and won't swell, deform, or break down when exposed to water

As you'll see, when used in combination with water-resistive barriers, MgO panels provide enhanced protection from the elements while contributing to the sustainability and durability of any building project.
